Operating for 28 years, this authentic snack bar with a traditional Japanese interior offers a harmonized experience of Japanese aesthetics and hospitality. After working at bars in Gion, Kyoto, and Fukuromachi, Kawaharasaki-san or “Setsuko Mama” opened Snack Setsuko in 1993 with a traditional Japanese theme to provide a warm, relaxing environment for customers.

When asked about her point of pride in the bar, she replied, “I guess I’m proud of having the good fortune to meet such great customers.” Continuing, she said, “I’m really grateful for the people around me. That’s why I’m here and still in business after all these years.”

The highlight of Snack Setsuko is the wonderful atmosphere where you can unwind in true comfort, while enjoying mama’s home cooking, drinks, and karaoke. Her heartfelt hospitality comes from a desire for everyone to relax and have a good time.
