Hachimanyama Cable Car

The remains of Toyotomi Hidetsugu’s castle stand atop Hachimanyama at 271 m above sea level. The cable car takes about four minutes from the foot of the mountain to the summit. The views of Lake Biwa and Mt. Hie are wonderful from the western and northern ruins near the summit, and from the observatory you can see the Azuchi Castle ruins, Mt. Kannonji, and the western lake.
